Health
With the current problems associated with swine flu, we will be cleaning the mats, toys, handles etc. before every class. Please use the alcohol handwash that is available in the centre.
Also just a reminder, please don’t come to class if you are feeling unwell, or a family member has swine flu. Please do not bring children to creche if they are unwell. Thanks for your support in this.
Hitchin Health Awareness Day
Hitchin Health Awareness day took place Saturday, 6th June ‘09. The day was a huge success despite the cold and windy weather! The Family Fitness team provided information on available classes, safe exercise techniques, and free blood pressure tests, fitness assessments and advice. The team measured the blood pressure of 42 people, 3 of whom were referred to their GP, and 11 people had modified fitness assessments.
There were a number of great displays in the market square, including Kirsten Smith’s contemporary dance group, showing amazing core stability, and Amanda Tap’s Dance Beat group encouraging young people to get fit through their lively dance displays. Highbury Infant School were also there helping raise awareness of the Bluebell Children’s Centre, with Year 2 taking part in a mini aerobics class - see photos alongside.
Many thanks to all of you who came along to support the event!
